4 Fantastic Facebook Hacks for Your FIRST Team
In our current age of internet interaction, Facebook is by far one of the most impactful out of the major social media platforms with over 1.65 Billion users worldwide. Did you know that 1 in every 4 minutes of mobile app use is spent in Facebook alone? And for good reason. You can share videos, photos, links and even GIFs with zero character limits to provide your audience with some sweet media. But let’s face it. Sometimes keeping the ol’ team Facebook page flowing with relevant content can seem more like a chore than an actual form of connection with your followers.
Never fear! We are here with 4 Fantastic Facebook Hacks which can help revolutionize your Facebook experience. So let’s get started!
1. Post Scheduling
Scheduling posts is extremely helpful especially during build season or when your communications team can only meet a few times a week for social media meetings. You can schedule your posts ahead of time and put them in “queue” to be posted at a pre-determined date and time of day. This is great especially for holidays, countdowns, or if you want to make daily posts during high traffic times but don’t have the time to directly post every day. It’s also super simple.
All you have to do is make your post like you would any other, but before you click the “publish” button, click the dropdown menu right next to it and click “schedule.”
Then, it’s as simple as clicking a date on the calendar and selecting a time.
Make sure to check out this article on Forbes so you know when to post to get the most traffic: http://www.forbes.com/sites/bruceupbin/2012/05/09/when-to-make-stuff-go-viral-online/#22263e512b50
2. Instant Replies
Instant replies are another great tool provided by Facebook. Basically, they allow you set an automated message to send to a follower when they message your page such as, “Thanks for messaging us, We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.” This is greatbecause during build season everyone is busy and usually no one has time to reply to the messages sent from followers right away. So you can reply when you get the free time.
The way you set them is again, rather simple. However, you will need administrator access in order to set them up and edit them.
Go to your settings and then click the messages tab to get started. Then scroll down to where it says “Send Instant Replies to anyone who messages your Page.” Then you simply type up what you want it say. I recommend something witty and clever but you can set your reply be anything your little heart desires.
And your done!
3. Exporting your page
Do you have like a ton of wicked sweet content on your page that you want to share at other places on the internet, but don’t want to download each by hand? There is an easier solution! Facebook also allows you to “export” your page. This means that it will give you a copy of your pages posts, photos, videos and page info. It’s always nice to have those backup files stored somewhere so if there is ever an internet crisis where evil trolls take over the internet and shut down all the cool pages, your photos, videos, and info will be safe and sound.
This again is really easy. Go to Settings > General > Download page.
4. Hootsuite App
Okay, so Hootsuite isn’t exactly a Facebook specific app, but it’s great because it allows you to post content across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, etc. to create cohesion across all your social media platforms. You will also have access to scheduling, analytics, targeted posts, and everything will be on one easy-to-read dashboard which will make your life a heck of a lot easier.
Hootsuite helps keep your team’s brand consistent cross all your social media accounts. This will make your communications team look more professional and have a greater impact then if you went around sharing random photos willy-nilly. Although Hootsuite is a very powerful program, it can be a little confusing to figure out. So we highly encourage you to download it and try it out for yourself. There are plenty of educational videos you can find which will help you more easily understand the mechanics and strategies when it comes to social media communication in general. Start out by checking the training videos posted by the Hootsuite YouTube channel so you can figure out everything from the basic use of the program, to the more advanced techniques of engaging large audiences.
Hopefully this will make your Facebook experience a lot easier and more fun! And always remember that Facebook shouldn’t feel like a burden. It should be fun for both you and your followers! So don’t take it too seriously and just have fun with it!
